- In languages and media which meet the needs of the people.
- In translations that are faithful to the scripture text in their original languages and which communicate the Bbilical massage.
- At prices people can afford.
- And of helpful people interact with the Word of God.
The Bible Society Seeks To carry out this task in Partnership and co-operation with all christian church related organisations.
Strategic Plan 2009- 2013.1.
SCRIPTURE ENGAGEMENT:
We seek to ensure that the Bible is widely used in places of worship, public arena and personal devotion for daily challenges and enrichment and value development system.
Strategies:
a) Ensure clear and communicating scriptures through appropriate media(language,audio and visual).
b) Develop portions / selections on contemporary issues ,moral teachings and specific Church Bible Study programs.
c) Put in place appropriate Advocacy programs.
2. RESEARCH:
The Bible Society of Uganda is providing researched solutions to a diversity of scriptural needs of the constituencies she serves.
Srategy:
Make research part and parcel of our program and product development.
3. MISSION SUPPORT:
The Bible Society of Uganda is generating sufficient resources to support a comprehensive national program and making a contribution to the UBS world fellowship budget.
4. PUBLISHING:
Ensuring that the Bible Society of Uganda has a strong, dynamic and responsive publishing program that has established her as a truly Christian publishing house.
Srategies:
a) Develop appropriate publishing process in light of the changing publishing world.
b) Engage , involve and retain quality translators , authors , designers , reviewers and publishing houses of like mind.
c) Provide adequate publishing resources.
d) Ensure work in progress security , copy right enhancement and protection.
5. DISTRIBUTION:
Our customers of the Bible Society of Uganda are having their scripture needsmet at all times within their localities at an affordable price.
Strategies:
a) Develop effective logistics.
b) Grow the working capital in orer to meet the customer needs and expectations.
c) Develop a comprehensive, effective and multi-year scripture ordering system.
d) Develop an effective promotion strategy.
6. PUBLIC RELATIONS:
We aim increasing our presence and recognition in the churches and civil society as the number one provider of scriptures and scriptural solution provider to the ills that afflict the society.
Strategies:
a)Develop effective and efficient communication channels.
b) Publisize the activities of The Bible Society regularly.
c) Stregthen external links.
d) Organise special events.
7. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
Ensure that the resources of the Bible Society of Uganda are well managed and focused to achieving her mission.
Strategies:
a) Recruit and retain a well trained and continuously improving staff that are motivated to deliver on the organisation mission.
b) Build an Organisational culture that encourages team building among staff.
c) Develop a staff welfare scheme.
d) Establish a sound financial management system geared towards optimal resource utilization in a dynamic economic environment.
8. GOVERNANCE:
The two key internal structures of governance and management needed to deliver the mission of the Bible Society are working together harmoniously.
Strategies:
a) Enable gorvanance and management to know their respective complementary roles and boundaries.
b) Faithfully implement the Bible Society constitutional provisions.
c) Participate in the wider fellowship of the United Bible Societies for mutual support in the common task.
In conclusion, our prayer is that God will bring to fulfillment these aspirations since we are convinced that we were guided by Him in the process of formulating them.
