Translation

According to The Bible Society of Uganda’s 2004-2008 Strategic Plan, translation continues to be the major activity of this organization. Since 2004, The Bible Society of Uganda has put in place mechanisms that enhance prompt and quality translations of the Bible. The translation procedure was reviewed and standardized to the extent that one does not need to wait for a translation of the Bible for too long. However this does not mean that translation of the Bible is now a walk over. The process demands a lot of time, finances and commitment.
Accuracy, faithfulness and communicating the meaning of God's Word continue to be our Principal.
A Picture Showing The Translators.
An introduction to a New Testament translation makes this assertation:
"The Bible has the power not only to inform- but also to reform and Transform lives. Through its influence countless people have been given in a new strength an unerring purpose and a sure hope in life.To the dying it has brought peace and assurance of eternal life. It has brought blessings to millions in every land and age.
It is supernatural in origin, eternal in duration, divine in authorship, infallible in authority, inexhaustible in meaning, universal in readership, unique in nrevelation, personal in application and powerful in effect.
It is given to you here in this life ,it will be open at the judgement , and it is established forever."
We have been called to handle the translation ,production and distribution of this Book of immense importance. We take pride and joy in this calling.

Challenges
We are still faced with challenges of unstable source of power at the translation centers and lack of committed administrative committees in some of the projects. We need help to supply standby generators for all our translation projects. We continue to call upon the church leaders in areas where a translation is taking place, to take keen interest in the formation and operation of this committee.
